What I learned

This class has taught me that there is more than one way to manage a group and be a leader. I have been  watching closely the people who lead the groups around me and using the things I have learned about being a leader in my classrooms. Leardership and feedback were hte things I was most fascinated with and will use the most in my groups. Gaining proper feedback and asking the right questions to obtain quality information is important and I see it being used in these last posts. There was not really a least favorite thing about the class for me. I suppose I wish I would have taken 100w prior to the class. I know that would have gotten me better grades on my papers. my favorit ething was the online instruction. I like being on my own time and I like blogging and interacting with the class when it is convenient for me.

  1. We nearly had the same concept we both liked. I am glad that this class taught you to be great leader and how to manage a group. I wonder what type of leader you are according to the book. I bet it greats leader if you feel that this class helped you become that. One of things I know I like most about feedback is that someone is taking the time to read what you have to say so I encourage you to say what you have to feel and this also will make you a better leader in things you do as well. Just be careful to chose your words carefully. Yes one of the best things about online classes is that you are on your own time and things like blogging does indeed help you to interact with classmates. Good luck on 100W, might I suggest studying and practicing for it over the winter break, it cant hurt but only help.

  2. Hey Blanch! I feel the same way about the online format. Being able to do the reading and quizzes and assignments on at my own pace throughout the week made the experience even better. The blogging was cool too because it pretty much forced all of us to speak up and share. In a lot of classes, the same handful of people raise their hand during discussions, so it was nice to have a format like this where everyone was required to weigh in on the material we learned about. Also, I thought the topic of feedback was very interesting and pragmatic. Especially when it comes to negative feedback, and how it can be either constructive or destructive depending on how it's delivered.

  3. Hi Blanch! Great response to the second post. I think that the leader knowledge you have gained is excellent. These are great abilities that you will carry on for the rest of your educational, professional and personal life with every group you communicate with. That is what I liked the most about this class. I have taken away so many useful things that I can apply to my everyday life. It's so nice to see that what I learn I am actually utilizing. As I was thinking about my favorite and least favorite thing about this class I forgot the fact of convenience. Thanks, for reminding me! I think that the time constriction on the posts could be removed or set up differently. Other than that I love the way this class was ran.
